China's Pesticide Export Prices are Likely to Continue to Rise

pesticides.jpg

Due to the impact on COVID-19, global food prices have continued to soar since last year. Farmers' willingness to plant has increased, and factors such as global disaster weather and currency overdraft in some countries have triggered food security concerns in various countries. This has resulted in a high price for staple food products, which has boosted the demand for pesticides.

China's economic recovery and concern about environmental issues have led to a surge in electricity prices. As a result, the pace of industrial activity has slowed, including the partial or complete closure of plants producing agrochemicals.

The price of yellow phosphorus rose again, and the generally high price of 43,000 RMB (About 6,776.8 USD) /ton made glyphosate not unexpectedly follow the rise.

At present, 95% glyphosate raw powder rose from 24,500 RMB (About 3,861.2 USD) /ton to 85,000 RMB (About 13,396 USD) /ton, and 95% glufosinate raw powder rose from 170,000 RMB (About 26,792 USD) /ton to 380,000 RMB (About 559,888 USD) /ton. (The data comes from Agropages)

According to the latest data, China exported 1.4940 million tons of herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides from January to October, up 11.18% year on year. (The data comes from Chinese customs)

The increase in trade has led to varying degrees of problems of the global shipping industry, with the entire industry, including shipping, ports, shippers, and land carriers, facing a shortage of containers, chassis, and container ship space. It has not only reduced the service levels and reliability of shipping companies, but freight rates have also risen significantly.

It is foreseeable that COVID-19 will continue to play an essential role in global trade and supply chain behavior in 2022. Continued COVID-19 outbreaks may continue to affect manufacturing and production schedules, putting pressure on supply chains.

To address those challenges in 2022, King Quenson has pre-stocked different types of high-quality pesticides for global customers.
